From the 18th – 25th June Lancaster University Fine Art students will be showcasing their work in the Peter Scott Gallery. The exhibition promises highly diverse and fascinating art which should not be missed. Bailrigg FM will be covering the event with interviews on the Tuesday evening with the Fine Art students and members of the public to gauge the initial reaction to the exhibition.

Our Station Manager, Kenny Donohue, after winning an SRA last year for 'Best Male' is appearing on National Radio One this weekend. During the early hours of Monday the 24th of March (Sunday night) from 2am until 3.30am Kenny will be assaulting the airwaves with his award winning 'banter'. Be sure to tune in to catch him!

In lighter news Bailrigg FM ceases regular scheduling today at 6pm for Easter and returns on Monday the 21st of April. You can still however catch our Matchday Live coverage of Lancaster City against Clitheroe tomorrow (Friday the 21st) at 2.45pm. Thanks for a great term everyone, and have a brilliant holiday.

Between 8pm and Midnight on Thursday the 6th of March (Week 8) your campus radio station is opening the floor. For one night only we are handing the airwaves over to you and your opinions on all things student issues at Lancaster Uni.

Do you want your thoughts to be heard or don't you even care? We aim to cover any and every opinion you have, feel free to leave a note on the wall voicing your beliefs or just come on down to Pizzetta Republic from 8pm to join in on the action.

With prizes to be won and voices to be heard, Bailrigg FM is, once again, breaking new ground in student radio.

After our highly successful debut coverage of Lancaster City's fantastic win over league leaders Skelmersdale United, its now the turn of Osset Albion to visit the Giant Axe and Matchday Live.

With matchday tickets to be won and exclusive Barrie Stimpson interviews, Bailrigg FM is STILL the official home of Lancaster City Football Club.

Bailrigg FM is your campus radio station. It's run entirely by student volunteers, and you can get involved!

Any member of LUSU can join the station (including students and staff), and get a weekly show, not to mention the opportunity to get involved in our news, sport, music or technical teams!

Whatever you're into, there's something to get involved in, from presenting a talk-based show (dicussing soaps, politics, sport, whatever you like!), educating the listeners about your favourite genre of music, running the station's computing or audio engineering infrastructure, commentating live on Lancaster City FC, or reviewing the latest new music before it hits the big stations.

The station's managed by a group of students too, and most members of LUSU are eligible to run for a position on the management committee.

Come along on Friday the 25th January between Midday and 4 to have a chat with anyone, from the Station Manager to Hodge, and become a fully fledged member of the station. You'll even be able to sign yourself up for a training slot or just gasp in awe at the vast record library. Refreshers' Fair is this Wednesday!

As usual, Bailrigg FM will be there, in the Great Hall from noon, playing the Best New Music and talking to the societies.

If you are interested in joining the radio station, perhaps becoming a DJ or getting involved "behind the scenes", in news, sport, music, the management team, engineering, computing or a whole bunch of other roles, this is a great time to show your interest!

All you need to do to join is to talk to someone at the Bailrigg FM stand.

It's never to late to join the station, whether you're a third year looking for something new to do for your last few terms, or a first year who missed out in Freshers' Week, everyone's welcome. We're pleased to annnounce that Kenny Donohue, Bailrigg FM's Station Manager won a student radio award in the category of Best Male this year, at the ceremony held in London on November 15th 2007. As part of the award, Kenny will be broadcasting across the country on BBC Radio 1 soon, so watch this space for more info in the future!

We're happy to announce that Your Campus Radio Station has received 3 nominations for the Student Radio Awards this year, two for our news coverage of the Traveller incursion and Sabbatical Elections, and one for a DJ, our station manager Kenny in the category of Best Male. We'll be down at the awards party on November the 15th, and hopefully we'll have some great news from London!
